    All Lakehouse candles are handcrafted in small batches with 100% natural soy wax derived from U.S. grown beans, wooden wicks, and high-quality fragrance oils infused with essential oils giving you a clean-burning and wonderfully scented candle.   • WHY SOY WAX?
    Soy wax is derived from a vegetable - soybeans! Soy wax is a natural product that has three general properties: Non-toxic, meaning the wax is not harmful to breathe in your home, unlike other large manufactured candle companies that have harmful additives such as paraffin. Made of 100% soybean oil, a renewable source harvested right here in the U.S. (a midwestern crop!) Clean burning fuel source - soy wax has a lower melting point than other waxes, therefore, lasting longer
  • WHY WOOD WICKS?
    When beginning Lakehouse Candle Co., we wanted to depict a MN memory in our product as closely as we could. In turn, we decided to create a candle that has a crackling noise, like a MN summer around the campfire or cozying up by the wooden stove during a MN blizzard. Wood wicks also have zero additives unline many cotton wicks with lead and zinc, and also have a longer burn time than cotton wick candles. It's a win-win all around with these beautiful looking (and sounding) wood wicks!
  • DO YOU HAVE A STOREFRONT?
    We do not have a storefront at the moment, but we do sell at many different retail stores around MN and a few in Wisconsin! To see our full list of where our candles are carried, head over to this link. We hand-pour all of our candles made to order at our production facility in Eden Prairie, MN.
  • WHY WON'T MY CANDLE STAY LIT?
    Our crackling wooden wicks may have issues if the wick is not trimmed before EVERY burn (besides the initial burn, we do that one for you)! Trim with a wick trimmer, nail clipper, or even your fingers to about 1/4" to 1/8". Do this by simply removing any black char from the previous burn. This will allow the flame to melt the wax and ignite the flame. This also will lengthen your candle's life to the fullest and prevent any soot build-up!
  • HOW DO I PREVENT TUNNELING?
    The most important thing to having a long and successful burning candle is to prevent tunneling! Tunning is when the wax builds up along the edges of your candle and you end up wasting a decent amount of your candle. In order to prevent this, you want to make sure that each time your burn your candle you allow the wax to melt all the way to the edges of the candle before extinguishing the flame, especially on the initial burn! It typically takes 2-4 hours for the candle to melt all the way to the edge.
  • WHERE IS MY PACKAGE?
    After you order, please allow 1-3 business days for your order to be processed, wrapped, and shipped (with care of course). Once it is shipped, you should receive a tracking number to track your package. When your order is picked up by the carrier, the delivery status is no longer within our control; please use the tracking number to check the status of your order from there!

  • HOW CAN I REUSE MY CANDLE JAR?
    REPURPOSE! Once you are finished with your candle, warm it in the microwave and remove once cool enough to handle. Wipe excess wax and wick base away. Wash your jar with soap and warm water and wallah! Ready to reuse as you please. We recommend trying them for cotton balls, homemade vinaigrette, plant pot, or pens! **Please note if you plan to keep your label on your jar when repurposing, avoid getting it wet.
  • DO YOU SHIP INTERNATIONAL?
    Unfortunately, we do not offer international shipping at this time.
  • WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IS YOUR MOST SUBTLE SCENT?
    As all of our candles are made with 100% soy wax, our candles naturally give off a more subtle aroma. The most subtle candle would be our Lake Superior candle!
  • RETURNS AND EXCHANGES
    The Lakehouse Candle Co strives to provide the best customer satisfaction. If you're unsatisfied with your candle, please reach out to us at shop@thelakehousecandleco.com. All returns must be processed within 30 days of receiving your order and require proof of purchase (e.g. your Lakehouse order number, order confirmation email, store receipt, etc). If your order arrived damaged, please include photos and a detailed description in your email, and we'll get started on a replacement order ASAP. Refunds are processed ONLY on unused, undamaged products. Please return your items back to The Lakehouse Candle Co in the original packaging and ensure that the shipment is carefully packed, as we're unable to process refunds on items that arrive broken. We will provide you with the proper return address via email. Returns are applied to returned product only and do not cover any original shipping fees. As a small, growing business, we are currently unable to pay for return shipping. Once submitted, refunds typically return to the original payment method within 3-10 business days. Exceptions: we do not accept returns or offer refunds on discounted or sale items, or third party products.
